⚾ C3 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Max Villalva- 2028 SS ⚾

Keep an eye on Max Villalva.

Max has been putting in serious work in the weight room, and we're already starting to see signs of that strength translating into more power at the plate. Combine that with his ability to really defend in the middle of the diamond, and there's a lot to like about where his game is headed.

He reminds me a lot of Nick Madrigal at the same age—a skilled middle infielder who can defend, compete, and impact the game in multiple ways.

Max already performed at the varsity level as a sophomore, and with the work he's putting in, I'd expect plenty more of the same moving forward.

Coaches receive a ton of recruiting emails. Make their job easy. Your video should be easy to find, easy to watch, and near the top of the email.

Your email doesn't need to tell your entire story. Its job is to get the coach interested enough to learn more.

There’s a lot to like about where Simon Garrity’s game is headed.

A big left-handed hitting corner infielder, Simon has already shown flashes of legitimate power as a sophomore while competing for a strong La Jolla Country Day program in San Diego.

Right now, he’s putting serious work into improving his strength and athleticism, and that combination with his left-handed bat gives him an intriguing ceiling.

Be Prepared for the Call 📞⚾

A phone call with a college coach is more than just a conversation—it’s an opportunity for them to get to know you beyond the baseball field.

Before the call, do your homework. Know the program, have a few thoughtful questions ready, and be prepared to talk about yourself, your goals, and what you’re looking for in a college experience. They also want to know that you are interested in their university. Be sure to include some conversation about the program and campus life.

Most importantly, be yourself. Coaches want to see how you communicate, how you handle yourself, and whether your personality could be a fit for their program. One phone call won’t determine your future, but over time, these conversations help both you and the coach figure out if there’s a genuine fit.

Prepare. Ask questions. Be confident. Be yourself.
